This morning we packed up with excitement. We were on our way through New Hampshire’s White Mountains headed to Burlington, VT to see Brett’s brother and future sisiter-in-law. The weather is phenomenal and we are both well rested and ready to go. We stop to photograph the covered bridge before hopping back on the Kanc and heading West.

We make several stops along the way as we are not in a hurry and the scenery warrants each stop. It feels strange for us to head West. When we started the trip back in April all we did was travel West. But then after making our way to the California coast in May all we did was travel North. Then after finding our way to Vancouver in June all we did was travel East. We went North from Rhode Island up to Bar Harbor in July but now we are headed West again and it feels strange. I’m sure that is partly because it is so beautiful here that it doesn’t make sense to keep driving - in any direction. But also because we know that in just a few days we will find ourselves back in Indiana.

These two pictures show a small fraction of the beauty in this region. The calm waters of this pond and its reflective qualities made is hard to walk away and get back into the car. Whereas, the constant movement and bubbling sounds of this mountain river made is just a difficult to leave.

There is so much beauty in New England.
