On day 62 (sixty-two!) of our road trip adventure we enjoyed spending the afternoon in Custer State Park, South Dakota. This photograph was taken as we were heading out of the park. This photograph was a preview for us of what was to come in the Badlands National Park – all those layers of sandstone and their bright colors exposed in the early evening light. After leaving Custer State Park we drove part of the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway, a beautiful road that goes up and over and through parts of a mountain just a few miles from Mount Rushmore and Keystone, South Dakota. There are one lane tunnels and pigtail bridges (where the road curves over itself) and sweeping vistas. At the top you can look out and see Mount Rushmore in the distance.
Happy 4th of July!!!! Love you!
I think you neglected to say what type of camera equipment was used.
That’s pretty sweet looking. I’m sure that the Badlands were incredible
