We left Southport Island after breakfast with Brett’s grandparents and hit the road. We had spectacular weather for the drive to Bar Harbor: sunshine, bright and wonderful sunshine! It was a very scenic drive and we were in great spirits. After we arrived on Mount Desert Island, we made our way from the Acadia National Park Welcome Center to the Seawall camp ground at the “south end of the quiet side” as the Park Ranger referred to it as. It is a first-come, first-serve camp ground within Acadia National Park with pretty decent sites. The camp ground is across the way from a natural seawall which is where these two pictures were taken. It was a very relaxing atmosphere with a gentle breeze and the waves crashing on the rocks.

We headed from Seawall over to the Loop Drive and headed to Jordan Pond for afternoon popovers and tea. It was so very surprising. The view was breathtaking, the tea was amazing and the popovers were to-die-for. We walked the grounds and had a splendid afternoon within the Park.

From there we headed into Bar Harbor. We walked the charming streets all around the quaint downtown area before heading to the waterfront in search of a lobster dinner for Brett. He locates a restaurant that suits his culinary desires and we enjoy a very tasty meal overlooking the swaying boats in the harbor. It is always fun to be out to dinner with Brett on an evening that will be the focus of a blog post as the camera comes out numerous times during the meal and usually people stare at us. But it is always worth it to know that he is happy.

The sunset was very nice and after walking around a bit more, we headed back to the Seawall campground for a campfire and then bed. It was a fantastic day!
