Day 55 – 6/8 – Today was an exciting day. We awoke to sunshine. Two days of sunshine in a row was not the only phenomenal thing about it. We were set to explore Seattle today and were excited to not have to do it in the rain. We dried out the tent and bedding in the morning sunshine as it was still damp from the night of rain a few nights past. After everything was dry, Brett and I were showered and breakfast was eaten – we loaded up Sofi and headed to the ferry. We were both excited to take the ferry into Seattle. Brett was excited because he likes ferries. I was excited because I enjoy avoiding traffic. It was a quick but very scenic 35 minute ferry ride and we were dropped right into the heart of downtown Seattle. After a quick visit to the Seattle Patagonia store and the flagship store of REI, we explored the public market. Fish, flowers and fruit were everywhere with tons of other goodies in between. It was a great experience. We stayed for a couple of hours exploring the enormous area before heading to Queen Anne and Discovery Park. By mid afternoon we were exhausted and headed to the car to head out of town. We drove 75 miles north to Mount Vernon and Burlington. We camped at Larrabee State Park.
