Rodeo Fun – Casper, WY

Rodeo Fun – Casper, WY

Casper, Wyoming – Day 62 – June 15th

Brett and I had hopes of going to a rodeo since we started the trip but had not had the correct timing ANYWHERE.
Lucky for us, we found one in Casper, WY. I was flipping through the Wyoming State Visitor’s Guide as we drove East out of Grand Teton National Park and found that the College National Finals Rodeo would be taking place the Monday to Saturday of the coming week. So, we opted to stay in Casper on Sunday night so that we could attend the rodeo on Monday.

We called Monday morning and learned that things had already started – so we headed over to the arena and the fun began.

When we got there, the Steer Roping trials were under way. Following that, we saw Bronco Riding, Steer Wrestling, Bull Riding and Goat Tying.

It was crazy and so much fun. I was not a fan of the steer wrestling – it just looked like they were going to break the steer’s neck. I had to look away many times. The goat tying was fast paced and fun. However, the bronco and bull riding was probably my favorite.
