Photo Of The Week – June 10th

Just off of the Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt Redwoods State Park is the Eel River. Kate and I took some time to stop and walk along the banks of the Eel River during our stay in the state park. The river is very peaceful, clear and runs slowly. We sat and watched a fly fisherman plying his craft, standing in the cold water. Unfortunately he did not catch anything, but the scene was a pleasant one. Redwoods on the left, redwoods on the right and this beautiful river smack dab in the middle. In the photo above you can see that the water was incredibly clear. Only the reflection of the redwoods at the top of the photo give away that this is a river. 24mm at f1.8

  1. Merideth Miller Says:

Close by the Humbolt Redwoods is Fern Canyon. It is what it says, a canyon covered with ferns. A truely beautiful little hike from the beach up a creek. When the breeze goes through, all the fern fronds wave. Breathtaking.
