Respite in the SF Bay area

Days 36 & 37 - 5/20 & 21- Brett and I spent the morning in Half Moon Bay. We walked the harbor that we stayed in during our sailing adventure in January. We managed to see a few sea lions and a boat run aground. aground

We worked our way from Half Moon Bay on the coast to San Jose at the southern end of SF Bay. We drove North to Pacifica along the coast, then jutted inland and went South along 101, making a stop in Palo Alto on the way to San Jose. We found a great desserted beach along the way and took some pictures. That is my very small profile in the photograph. We climbed down a steep little path but were rewarded with quite stunning views.

We arrived at my Uncle’s house in the late afternoon. The weather was incredibly better inland than on the coast. We ended up with gorgeous warm rays from the sun and blue skies for once. Brett and I showered and did laundry, ran to the grocery store, and admired the countless cute characteristics of his adorable home.

That evening the three of us went out to an amazingly tasty Mexican restaurant. Brett and I were definitely not used to artificial lighting allowing us to stay up past sundown nor the constant on-demand access to power and internet which allowed us to catch up on some photo editing as well as watch the season finales for some tv shows.

Sofi received her second oil change of the trip in San Jose. Her check engine light has been randomly appearing and then just as mysteriously disappearing. The mechanics couldn’t find anything wrong with her during their check, which is good news. Brett also happened upon another camera store on his outing to get Sofi’s oil changed - what a surprise. We were able to meet and chat with Uncle Danny’s girlfriend Emily, who is a doll - so nice and sweet. She’s very pretty and quite funny. They make a very adorable couple.
