Not knowing whether we will have another U.S. Road Trip in our future, Brett and I have decided to expand the route of our 2009 road trip scheduled to last at least 9 months to include a few more of the places we would like to see. We will start by driving Route 66 West from Chicago to California. Then after a few side trips, we will head North along the Pacific coast from San Diego to Vancouver. We will then drive from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic in a zig-zag route seeing tons of sites along the way. The trek from Vancouver to Halifax will be followed up with a scenic journey down the East coast. We are hoping to arrive in Key West by mid-December. This road trip will last over 250 nights and cover over 20,000 miles.

We are set to leave a few days following Easter. We decided to stick around and spend the holiday with family to give us a chance to see everyone before we leave. Plus, we want to have the Easter Egg hunt with Marilyn. She’s such a goof - but I think she’ll have a good time.

I have been trying to soak up time with family before we go, especially Miss Marilyn as she’s going to change a lot in our 9 months away. This is a picture from last weekend at the White River State Park’s Conservatory.
