We had a fabulous weekend for Brett’s birthday. It was crazy warm with a high of 70+ degrees. The family got together Friday night to celebrate. We had breakfast for dinner. Even though the get-together was in honor of Brett, he was busy in the kitchen. He chose to cook for his birthday instead of going out or ordering in. His menu included eggs, bacon (turkey for us and tofu for him), English muffins and toast plus crepes. For dessert we had yummy cupcakes that we had made the night before. It was nice to get everyone together.
Marilyn helped Uncle Brett open his gifts. She enjoyed the bag with tissue paper the most and took the paper out numerous times. Marilyn was not allowed to assist Uncle Brett in opening the box containing his new camera lens. She had a great time with all of the wrapping paper though.

Saturday was, by far, the highlight of the weekend. It started with Brett running a 10K race in the morning downtown. He beat his estimated time by 5 minutes. And luckily I was at the finish line early or I would have missed seeing him finish.
After the race, Brett and I welcomed in the Spring-like weather by retiring the snow blower to the storage unit and retrieving our bikes. Man, Brett was excited to have his bike back. Upon returning home (and after a much needed shower), Brett finished out the morning watching a Premier League soccer game. We had Brozinni’s pizza for lunch, then enjoyed an afternoon watching baseball on TV thanks to the fact that the World Baseball Classic was on ESPN. He also listened to part of the Yankees Spring Training Game on his XM Radio. We also took a bike ride and walked the dog. However, I’m sure if you were to ask him, he would say that the highlight of his birthday was playing frisbee, as it is one of Brett’s favorite pastimes. It was a great day!
