As part of our trip out east to visit family, we had the wonderful privilege of spending a fantastic week with someone who is not technically family, but pretty darn close to us. Kai lives in West Greenwich, Rhode Island and works in an outdoor education program that is part of the University of Rhode Island. As you can see above, we were blessed with a decent amount of snow - all of this came on New Years Eve.
And it was not just snowy, it was cold as well. We hunkered down inside and had lots of fun - watched movies, cooked & baked (post coming soon) and played lots of games. Above you can see Kate enjoying some hot chocolate during an intense game of Scrabble. I wonder who was winning? Hmm.
Kai lives in an old farm house, which is really great. It has lots of charm and character (and when I say charm and character I mean that it does not retain heat very well) and is in great condition. The picture above was taken looking down the stairs to the first floor. Those green legs belong to Kai, she was in a hurry so I had to snap off the picture quickly.
One of the few sunny days that, coincidentally, wasn’t terribly windy we went to Wickford for an afternoon. We were hoping to see some boats, but they were all put away for the season, unfortunately. So we walked around, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. We did not actually go antiquing, all though I got a great photo of Kai wearing a cute sailor hat in the pirate store. Arrgh!
Thanks again to our wonderful hostess, Kai, we had a fabulous time and hope to return for a visit soon.
