Since I was young and first read about the ruins at Machu Picchu, it has been on my list of things to experience so when Brett asked where we wanted to travel to in the Fall of 2006 when we had two months to explore the world - my first response was a resounding “Machu Picchu!” We planned a six-week trip that included Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. The highlight of the six weeks in South America was, as I would have guessed, Machu Picchu. We spent two days at the historic ruins and took probably two thousand pictures. We were lucky as the groups tourists were relatively few and the site was able to be experienced on a more personal and private level. It was fantastic and everything that I had dreamed of.
