Brett and I traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico in August of 2004 for our honeymoon. We spent the week enjoying the quaint cobblestone streets and brightly colored buildings in Old San Juan, exploring the vast and historic forts, and hiking in the amazingly lush and green rain forest. It was a great vacation and a place to which we will definitely return.
One of my favorite places in San Juan was Parque de las Palomas (Pigeon Park) in Old San Juan. Brett and I ate at a little restaurant on the cobblestone street one night. We had the most amazing fried plantains as we watched the hoards of tourists passing on the main street. Another highlight of the trip was El Yunque Rain Forest. We saw waterfalls, climbed to the top of a look-out with a crazy spiral staircase, and climbed to the top of El Yunque, the highest peak, where we could see miles and miles in each direction.
